Volunteer Opportunities
Docent -assist with tours, greet visitors, answers questions, lead tours, set up informational tables at off-site events, and more. Training will be provided on-site by museum staff.
Living History – wear Civil War clothing and portray Civil War Sailors, Marines, Civilians and other needed persons. Living History volunteers are needed for special events, reenactments, programs, tours, media opportunities, etc.
Curatorial – work with curatorial staff on research, library management, artifact preservation and data entry.
Maintenance – assist with general cleaning and maintenance of the museum and the grounds.
Visitor Services – work greeting visitors, helping in the gift shop, assisting with mailings, recording visitor information and answering questions about the museum. You can work a regular schedule or on an on-call basis.
