For the third year, the National Civil War Naval Museum will be presenting Mystery at the Museum: Just Desserts! on October 19, 20, 21, 27 & 28. This interactive murder mystery show features ONLY DESSERTS! That’s right, you can satisfy your sweet tooth while solving a little crime. Each show features four side-splitting acts, a slice of a signature Kimmy Cakes dessert, a buffet of sweet treats, and a cash bar. The purpose of this fundraiser is to further support the organization’s mission, deepen the museum’s impact, and help ensure financial sustainability for this valuable cultural institution. By telling the stories of the navies of the Civil War, we connect people with the past; giving them a better sense of place and time. The museum cares for a unique collection of nationally relevant maritime artifacts as well as a strong archival research collection. It offers an array of educational programs for students of all ages, in addition to a variety of entertaining public events and programs for the community.
Mystery at the Museum is back with an new show: “Murder at the Comic-Con”
directed by Jonathan Samuel Eddie and featuring Breana Blue and Jasper Howell
Written by Kate and JJ Musgrove, this show finds superheroes and villains uniting to solve a mystery! Attendees are transported to the first ever Real Comic-Con, the convention for real super people only! All of your super friends will be there to enjoy a night of power networking and swapping super stories until the group realizes that their powers are somewhat reduced. Is there something in the water or something more sinister going on? The museum has a table ready for you so come join this hilarious spoof of comic book characters and comic conventions. Each night will feature a signature dessert provided by Kimmy Cakes, a local bakery that specializes in delicious cheesecakes, cookies, breads, muffins, and more. Each ticket holder will receive a slice of the signature dessert and will also have access to the dessert bar. That sweet buffet will be stocked with chocolate confections, cookies, cupcakes, and other sugary delights for guests to enjoy.

October 19 - Key Lime Cake, moist three-layer cake with real lime zest, key lime juice, and hints of vanilla and Graham cracker. Frosted with a key lime cream cheese frosting. A vacation to the Florida Keys in a bite.
October 20 - Banana Pudding Cheesecake, creamy banana pudding inspired cheesecake with a nilla wafer crust, fresh homemade whipped cream topping, and crumbled cookies. Just like the real thing.
October 21 - Blue Velvet Oreo Cheesecake, two layers of blue velvet cake sandwich a thick layer of vanilla and Oreo cheesecake. Frosted with my signature vanilla cream cheese frosting.
October 27 - Strawberries & Champagne Cake, three layers of pink champagne cake, made with fresh strawberries and champagne. Frosted with a white chocolate buttercream frosting.
October 28 - Red Velvet Butter Pecan Cheesecake, signature red velvet cake meets southern butter pecan cake, mixed into vanilla cheesecake with a pecan crust. Topped with signature vanilla frosting and fresh red velvet cake crumb.

Where are my tickets?
After visiting our website to purchase tickets, you will receive an email confirmation. Your name will be on a reservation list. The box office and venue will be open for guests approximately an hour before show time. There is no need to bring the email printout.

Is there a dress code?
The dress code for this event is business casual or fun! We are asking participants to have fun! After all, it is the Halloween season! Come in costume. Come dressed as your favorite detective! Come dressed as your favorite superhero or comic book character! Have fun!
