RiverBlast 08, CSMC pics



Confederate Marines from Florida attended River Blast this year and practiced amphibious landings in Photo 7, then fired the big gun in Photo 8. This picture is courtesy Paige Creel.

RiverBlast coming March 29-30, 2008

RiverBlast, one of Port Columbus's largest living history events is set for March 29-30. School of the Sailor is the theme for this year's event. Civil War Marines and Sailors from across the South will be here to improve their 1860s maritime skills. Cutlass drill, boat rowing, huge cannon drill and lots more activities are on the agenda and can be viewed by the public. Also set are ironclad ship battles in the river at 3:30 each day and an opportunity for selected visitors to participate on the cannon crew for a late afternoon cannon shot.
